Impacting student motivation, behavior and wellbeing
If there’s no data or measured student change as a result of your Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs, then what’s the point?
Schools invest significant time and resources to understand the growth of students, both as individuals and as cohort groups. And it should be no different for your social-emotional, behavior and mental health supports. You should expect and receive data on individual student growth and overall impact for every program in which your district invests.
EmpowerU was developed by educators, for educators and is rooted in accountability and evidence. Our Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs are designed to help students make the important transformation from dysregulation and avoidance to confidence, focus and motivation — that all translates to outcomes. Progress tracking and outcomes are the only way our schools can make sure every student is getting the learning and support they need for lasting benefits. And our programs drive results.
EmpowerU approach to measurement uses the Transtheoretical Change Model, based on the long-respected research of James O. Prochaska, Ph.D. and Carlo DiClemente, Ph.D. Throughout our programs, students advance from thinking about making goal changes to actively working on their goals each day. In fact, our three-year data study shows that the average Tier 2 EmpowerU student progresses through 1.8 stages of change — nearly twice the typical rate — in their own personal, emotional, social and academic goal areas.

What Students are Saying
“My greatest gains were mentally and academically. I improved so much in school and my Inner Coach helped me deal with anxious thoughts without shutting down. I seriously found this course so helpful… it was just what I needed to help me restart and pass my classes.”
